Pumpkin Scones

Easy Yummy Pumpkin Scone Recipe

Hey friends I’m so excited to be sharing an easy pumpkin scones recipe with you today. It is starting to get a little cooler and I’m in full fall decorating mode. There is something about fall colors that just draws me in. I want to decorate, bake and soak it all up. While I’ve been decorating I’ve been baking these delicious pumpkin scones.

They are an old family recipe. Growing up, I remember always having the combination of soup or stew paired with these pumpkin scones throughout the fall. My Nana created this recipe and it was passed down to my mom and now to me. The best part about this recipe is it is delicious and EASY. If you know me I love easy stuff (crafts, recipes, everything).

Let’s get baking!

What you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1 egg
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 heaping cups of flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Cream together margarine and sugar. Then add egg, then pumpkin. Beat well. Add remaining ingredients. Mix by hand.

Put dough on floured surface and push down with hands (don’t roll out with a rolling pin, you want them to be sort of thick and chunky looking).

Cut out circles with biscuit cutter or a drinking glass (keep bringing dough back together and push out with hands each time all the scones are cut out, when there is enough for one left shape into a circle for the last scone).

Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

Let cool a little and enjoy. They are especially good warm with butter.

Yummy Pumpkin Scones for Autumn

It may still be on the warmer side, but fall is coming fast.  Be sure to add this awesome fall recipe to your collection so you can have it when you are in the mood for a good soup and pumpkin scones.

Delicious Fall Recipe for Pumpkin SconesWhat is your favorite thing about fall? I really can’t decide if it is the decorating or the baking. It is probably just the whole season that I love. Happy baking!
