Hey, friends! Today I’m excited to have a new bloggy friend of mine here to share a fun recipe with you that would be perfect for the 4th of July and any other patriotic parties you have planned this summer! Here she is; you’re going to love her…
Hey One Artsy Mama Readers!! I’m Emily and I blog over at The Benson Street about recipes, crafts and printables (I love printables!!). I love Amy and her blog and can’t wait to share an easy, yummy project with you today.
Have you ever had chocolate nonpareils??? If you haven’t they are the cutest looking chocolates. Chocolate Nonpareils are chocolates dressed up with sprinkles (nonpareils to be technical). These easy candies are sure to impress!
Let’s start with what you will need:
- Melting chocolate (in any variety, I used milk chocolate)
- Nonpareils Sprinkles (I went with a patriotic theme)
- Chocolate molds
To get started grab a bowl and get melting the chocolate. This can be a delicate process. Just start small by melting in a microwavable bowl for 15 to 30 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir well. If there are still big clumps, repeat the process. Decrease microwave time if needed to avoid burning the chocolate.
The chocolate will look nice and smooth. Spoon chocolate into candy mold. I filled about half of the mold. Tap the mold lightly to even out the chocolate and then covered the mold with sprinkles.
The chocolates on the wax paper on the left were my first try. I put the sprinkles in the mold and then spooned the chocolate on top of the sprinkles. It might have worked but I have to tap the mold to make it nice and even. Spooning in the chocolate and then putting the sprinkles on top looks 10 times better, I promise! Let the chocolates set up in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes. Gently pop out of the mold and style them up in cute bags.Aren’t they just beautiful.
I went with a Patriotic theme for these chocolate nonpareils, but any color combination would work. Patriotic nonpareils would look great with white chocolate. Chocolates would be a great holiday treat or gift. The nonpareils add a fun crunch to the smooth chocolate.
I hope you love this easy idea much as I do. It is so fun to find something so simple, but looks so good. I love things that look like they took a lot of effort but are truly effortless. Try it out and don’t worry about making a mistake.
Thanks for reading along with me and to Amy for sharing her space. I hope to see you soon over at The Benson Street.
