It’s hard to believe, but as you and I are just starting to turn our thoughts toward boots, sweaters, pumpkins, and fall fashion, the fashion world itself is already looking ahead to the Spring/Summer season of 2015! Designers and buyers are thinking about what we’ll be wearing this time next year and hitting the runways with it. I recently received a challenge from the folks at Diamondere where they asked me to predict what I think some of the trends will be for that SS 2015 season. Once I made my predictions, my job was to create outfit/mood boards showing what that looks like in real life, and of course incorporating some of my favorite Diamondere products into those boards.
Here are my predictions and a little bit about why I chose what I did…hope you enjoy!
TREND #1: ATHLETIC/PLAYFUL
Pull out your old varsity jacket, because one of the popular looks for SS 2015 is {I think} going to be a casual, playful, athletic one. Baseball caps, sneakers, and all things sporty will have their moment…which is great for those of us who just want to roll out of bed and throw on a hat, am I right?
Creating this board was a lot of fun because I combined some really casual pieces, like a black cap from ASOS and a pair of Converse sneakers with pieces that had a bit of a modern fashion-forward twist. Leather shorts bring an unexpected cool vibe and keep the outfit from looking too sloppy. As far as the jewelry pieces, I started by looking for a pair of stud earrings because anything else would look out of place with an athletic outfit. I found these sweet Dana Amethyst Heart Earrings, which are simple but sparkly, and coordinate perfectly with the purple in the jacket and tank. I wanted something very plain and simple for the ring as well, and the Treva round ring does a great job of being very understated while packing a little hidden sparkle. And who doesn’t like to sparkle a little now and then?
TREND #2: BLACK AND WHITE WITH PASTELS
If you love the b&w trend as much as I do, fear not; I don’t think it’s going anywhere for awhile. I think it has at least another season ahead of it. But, I think for SS 2015, it’s going to get a little update by being combined with little touches of pastel pink, blue, mint…here’s what I see.
I loved creating this board because the black and white trend is a current obsession of mine in my own wardrobe for this summer. I totally want this dress; loving the fit and flare style and the stripes! I also like that it’s more white than black, which feels more like spring/summer to me. I paired it with a fun geometric bracelet and an adorable little clutch with a bow, which I thought had a great retro vibe that really went with the dress. Then it was time to add a pop of pink! I started with pink pumps and found a soft shade of nail polish. Then, I searched Diamondere.com, specifically looking for pieces with Pink Tournaline. As soon as I saw the Bela necklace, I knew it was the perfect fit for this outfit. The simplicity of it and the geometric feel were just right; elegant but still somewhat casual. The Viera ring had a simple feel too, but interesting at the same time with the interlocking loops of the band. I don’t know about you, but I think the pink adds a sweet feminine touch to the b&w…what do you think?
TREND #3: LUXURY
This last trend is all about treating yourself; wearing things that feel and look luxurious. Fabrics, textures, and details will be important. Think velvet, silk, chiffon, tulle. Think embroidery and lace. Think rich jewel tones. Like this…
To start off this look, I found a really gorgeous long tulle skirt with black lace. Then, I paired it with a fitted silk top in a pretty jewel tone. Suede shoes and a metallic bag continued to add luxurious textures and fabrics to the look without taking it over the top. I picked a wine colored polish and lip gloss to keep everything in the jewel tone family, and I chose some cat eye sunglasses to compliment the outfit. As for the jewelry, I started by doing a search for black pearls on the Diamondere site. They have such a deep, elegant glow, and the tiny teardrop detailing of the white gold on this pair of Dawn dangle earrings perfectly fit the vintage look. Then, I found a really cool flower shaped cocktail ring called the Tassa with my birthstone the Blue Topaz in the center.
So here they are…my official predictions for Spring/Summer 2015! Won’t it be fun to see if I’m right?
Now, I also have to forewarn you about something. Remember how I told you this was a challenge from Diamondere? My boards will be entered in a contest…and the prize is a trip to NY Fashion Week!!! I would SO love to go! Then I can learn more about what’s up and coming in the fashion world and pass it all along to you! How do I win? Well, Diamondere is going to share the various boards on their Facebook page starting in a few days and they’re going to be looking for the ones with the most “likes.” So, be ready because I’m going to be asking for your help to go and like my boards as often as you can to help send me to NYC! Ok, you’ve been warned!
Now, what do you think of my predictions, friends? Which of the three looks is your favorite? Do you see yourself wearing any of these trends in the future?

I am absolutely smitten with number 2! I think black and white is always classy and I LOVE soft pink! I’m also an Essie-aholic…so the nail polish immediately caught my attention! The entire look is PERFECT in my opinion! <3
