Game Time with Tervis Collectibles & a Giveaway!

Thanks to Tervis for sponsoring today’s post and giveaway!

Game Day Treats

What time is it?  GAME TIME!  As you know, the Artsy Family happens to love football, particularly our home team, the Baltimore Ravens! {We do also manage a fantasy team with the amazing Peyton Manning as our quarterback, but we still bleed black and purple for the most part!}

On game days, you’ll find all of us sporting our jerseys and logo gear and of course, we wouldn’t dream of drinking out of anything but our Ravens Tervis tumblers!  We actually have quite a collection of them, including Little Crafter’s 10 oz wavy tumbler, our 16 oz tumblers, my 24 oz tumbler, and the water bottle.  All we’re missing are the 12 oz tumbler, the mug, and the goblet!

Just a few weeks ago, Tervis released a new size option, 2.5 oz Collectibles.  Of course, we had to have some to add to our Ravens collection, right?  I have to admit something to you, though.  Honestly, even though I read the ounce size on the Tervis website, I didn’t have a good visual of what size they actually were.  I was picturing something more like a short glass, but when they arrived, I realized that they’re actually shot glass size, and super cute!

For reference, here they are next to Little Crafter’s 10 oz wavy tumbler.  See?  Adorable!!  The Collectible measures just 2 3/4″ tall but is huge on style.  It’s available in all 32 NFL teams {although I can’t imagine why you’d want a different one!}, as well as over 50 colleges and fun destinations like Key West, New York, and Myrtle Beach.  They even have one with coffee beans on it that I think I need.  Like all Tervis products, they have a Made-for-Life Guarantee and are safe for use in the microwave, freezer, and dishwasher.

Once they arrived, I started brainstorming fun ways to put them to good use on Game Day!  Here are three of my favorites:

Espresso Shot

Ingredients:
Espresso
Whipped Cream
Caramel Sauce
Sprinkles

As many of you know, I just got a Starbucks Verisimo brewing system {and will be giving away THREE more on September 29!).  I just placed an espresso pod in the correct slot, lowered the handle, and pressed the espresso button, then let the machine do the rest.

If you like your espresso all by itself, by all means you can stop here and just drink it as is!  But if you’re like me and you like a little coffee with your cream and sugar, read on.

I prefer to make things sweet by topping my espresso with whipped cream and caramel sauce.  I thought the gold sprinkles were a nice, festive team-color touch!

I, however, am the only one in our house interested in drinking espresso, so I came up with two other ideas that even Little Crafter could enjoy.  Here’s one:

Mini-Float

Ingredients:
– your choice of soda
– vanilla ice cream

Everyone loves a good soda float, right?  Choose your favorite soda – cola and root beer are traditional float favorites, but based on your team colors, it can also be fun to use grape soda, orange soda, or other varieties.  Pour it into your collectible and top it with a little scoop of vanilla ice cream!  It’s a fun, sweet treat, but still leaves you plenty of room for other game day snacking.  Since these, like all Tervis tumblers, are designed to help keep hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold, they work just as well for ice cream as they do for espresso.

Here’s the one I thought kiddos would particularly enjoy:

Non Alcoholic Jell-O Shot

Ingredients:
– 1 package of Jell-O, your choice of flavor/color
– 1/2 cup Sprite, Sparkling Cider, or Apple Juice
– 1 cup boiling water
– 1/2 cup cold water
– Whipped Cream
– Sprinkles and/or candy topping

Mix 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup Sprite, Sparkling Cider, or Apple Juice and refrigerate to get a consistent temperature.  Pour the gelatin mix into a separate bowl, add 1 cup of boiling water, and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.  Stir in the chilled Sprite/Cider/Juice and water mix.  Pour into your Collectible tumblers and refrigerate for 4 or more hours.  When gelatin is set, top with whipped cream, sprinkles, and/or candy in your team’s colors.

What do you think?  Which of these would you and your family enjoy the most?  There are plenty of other ways to use these Collectibles too, including filling them with candy or nuts to help portion out a reasonable game time snack for little ones {or yourself}.  What would you put in yours?

Speaking of which, Tervis is offering one lucky reader an NFL Collectible of your choice!  Use the Rafflecopter below to enter.  Good luck!

  1. I am, sadly, a Bucs fan… sadly because being a Bucs fan is a painful state of being right now. I do have a TON of Florida State Tervis Tumblers!

  2. Yummy recipes–it’s nice to see family friendly “game day” posts!

If I won, I’d probably choose the Carolina Panthers. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win!

  3. My team is the New England Patriots. My dad grew up on Long Island which he considers to be part of New England, although some people disagree, and so he has been a long time Patriots fan and passed that onto me!

  4. Have I told you “tervis” means “health” in Estonian 🙂 Kind of funny name since I know the meaning, but I’m sure these tumblers make every drink healthy.

  5. OH MY WORD!!! Too CUTE!!!! I have a rather large Tervis collection (I think we’re up to 40 at last count!!!), but those little collectibles are DARLING!!!! <3 We're 49ers fans over here… I'd probably make some sort of jello dessert to go into them. 😀
