If it isn’t messy, it isn’t fun, right? More often than not, it’s true in our house, especially when it comes to our art and craft projects. Little Crafter and I are always covered in something, whether it’s paint, glitter, glue, or who-knows-what. {Even poor Fuzzy may or may not have accidentally gotten a little Mod Podge in her fur when she got too curious about one of my recent projects…} I think creativity is inherently messy, but we certainly can’t let that stop us from creating! We have the fun, make that #HappiMess, then clean it off with no worries.
For example, if you ask Little Crafter what one of his favorite recent projects is, he’ll tell you it was making a Splatter Paint Canvas. It’s exactly what it sounds like. We took a big 16×24 canvas outside and put it on top of an old sheet in the back yard. I gave him about twenty different bottles of acrylic and multi-surface paint and a few paintbrushes and let him go wild.
Little Crafter chose his colors, one at a time, including {of course} some glittery ones} and splattered them all over the canvas anywhere he wanted the paint to go. He had an absolute blast. And I had a blast watching him create. There was a pure joy on his face that I wouldn’t have missed for anything. The end result is a really colorful, interesting piece of abstract art that our whole family loves!
We have the canvas hanging in our dining room, and it’s so fun to watch LC point out his masterpiece to friends and family when they visit because he’s so proud of the work he did. I also used a digital image of it as the background for this fun printable to remind all of us that creativity is messy…and that’s ok! You probably noticed in the photo above, Little Crafter did his painting without a shirt on. He was also wearing his “paint pants,” which are a pair of jeans so covered in paint we’ve turned them into a pants-version of an art smock. By the time he was done creating, he had about as much paint on his body as he had on the canvas. And you know what? That was totally fine. In fact, I expected it. {Why do you think he was shirtless?} As soon as he finished, we headed directly inside to the bathtub and washed away the mess.
Here in the Artsy Family, we have the Temp2O handheld shower from Delta in our master bathroom. It has lots of great features, like six different spray variations and Touch Clean spray holes, but the best part about it is the Temp2O technology itself. It totally takes the guesswork out of bath time by letting you know when the water is a safe and comfortable temperature for everyone in your family. There’s a digital LED display that not only shows you the numeric temperature of the water, it’s also color coded! Cool temperatures show up on a blue screen, warmer temperatures are magenta, and finally the screen changes to red when the water is hot.
It’s also available as a standard shower head, but we chose the handheld because I often like to wash my hair separately from when I shower. I prefer showering at night, but any of you who have ever gone to bed with wet hair can attest to how unpleasant that can be. So, I wash my hair in the morning by leaning over the tub and using the handheld shower head. I love that I can see when the water is actually warm enough now instead of guessing and ending up with my head under a stream of cold water. It’s also super helpful for when Little Crafter takes his shower or bath. I sure wish we’d had this when he was a baby and we were constantly trying to guess and use thermometers to make sure the water was just the right temperature for his sensitive skin! Now, he knows exactly what temperature he likes, so he anxiously watches the display and waits for it to hit the “magic number” before jumping in. He thinks it’s extra fun to take his shower now, so I’m all about that! In fact, each of us has our own “magic number” for the water temperature we prefer, as well as a preferred spray setting. The setting is easy to change, just the push of a button, so we can each take exactly the kind of shower we like best. Today, Delta is giving one lucky reader your own Temp2O showerhead or handheld shower so you can clean up your own #HappiMess! Rafflecopter will walk you through the entry process below.

“Why do people treat mess like it’s a bad thing? It’s actually the evidence of a life well lived. When you’re out there making, creating, doing and playing, embrace your #HappiMess and let Delta kitchen and bath innovations help clean up so you can do it all again tomorrow.” Disclosure: Compensation was provided by Delta via Mode Media. What a wonderful idea!!! I would love the shower head, our oldest is right at that age where he’s becoming independent enough to shower alone, but I’m so worried that he’ll adjust the water temp and end up hurting himself (our handle is finicky), but the color coded light is perfect for him to be able to do it himself. How cool!!

I would choose the detachable shower head, as I have little ones too! This is great for kids learning how to use the shower! 2 of mine are starting to get to that age, but I worry they will make it too hot! This is hreat!

This is so amazing! PERFECT for our little one to make those steps to be able to be independent and get his shower ready himself with the color coded temp! I would pick the hand shower! Great to use in the tub and clean the shower 😉 Thank you for the post and the great giveaway!

I would definitely choose the hand held option. That’s what we have in all our showers and is a lot more versatile.
