Fall is definitely in the air, friends! At least for those of us on the East Coast…sorry, California! I wanted to take a minute to show you an easy way to mix prints with your fall wardrobe and show you one of my favorite cozy outfits.

Striped Blazer: Stitch Fix / Magenta tank: Express / Boot Cut Jeans: Express / Rockstar Bracelet: Kluster Shop /
Crochet Scarf / Polka Dot Flats: Ja-Vie
I love wearing blazers in the fall because they are a fun alternative to wearing a sweater every day and they’re just the right mixture of warmth and style. I paired this striped one with a crochet grey scarf that coordinates with the colors of the blazer. Jeans are the perfect compliment to a blazer to keep things casual, and I went for my favorite pair of boot cut ones from Express.
I didn’t want the whole outfit to be too neutral, so I added a pop of color by wearing a magenta tank under the blazer. It’s just enough to brighten things up and make the look more fun. For accessories, I chose the Rockstar bracelet, which is a perfect compliment to the blazer, a pair of gunmetal hoop earrings from express, and JetSet grey nail polish from Gelish.
Now. Let’s talk mixing prints and the most important thing…polka dot shoes!! First of all, I’m always very careful when I mix prints because I don’t want to end up looking clownish. I like to follow my two of my own self-imposed rules. The first is that the different prints can’t touch; I have to separate them with something solid. Some people can wear plaid pants and a polka-dot shirt…I am not that person. Instead I had my stripes on top with the blazer, then tiny polka dots on my flats, with my solid neutral jeans in between to break them up. My other rule is that the prints need to be the same or coordinating colors. My jacket is black and grey, the flats are black and white; that works for me.
Now let’s talk a little more about these fabulous shoes, shall we? I received this pair from Ja-Vie to try out and tell you about, and let me tell you, they are THE most comfortable pair of flats I’ve ever owned. Honestly. I literally wear them at least every other day {yes, even in the midst of boot season!} because they feel so good and they’re so darn cute all at the same time.
These flats have a really unique design, and it all started with a mama who was feeling uncomfortable in her shoes…”Inspired by the designer’s difficult pregnancy and struggling to walk for several months, this innovative research & design was developed by her husband who wanted women to seek comfort without sacrificing their style. “Ja-Vie”, is a combination of their two children, Javier & Viera.” Isn’t that awesome?
So here’s what makes them so comfortable: The design combines a soft, breathable cotton knit “sock,” with lightweight jelly outsoles and cushioned leather insoles. The insoles are easily removable with velcro so they’re machine washable. Plus, “Ja-Vie provides a soft arch and ball support, a perforated bottom insole for air circulation, heel shock absorber and a second skin flexible fit with their 100% cotton lining.” In fact, the entire shoe is machine washable! There are lots of different colors and patterns available…and I kind of want them all…
Honestly, friends, these shoes are FABulous. I seriously love them and really do wear them all the time. Which is why I’m extra-excited that Ja-Vie is letting me give away a free pair to one of you! The winner will get to choose her favorite design. Just enter via the Rafflecopter below; good luck. And that’s not all. Ja-Vie is offering free shipping to all One Artsy Mama readers for the next week; just use the code ARTSY to redeem it!

I love the Polka Dot best but did not see it available on their website. My second choice would be the CAMOUFLAGE FLATS.
