Raise your hand if you use emoticons in your day to day communications. I have to admit, I can’t even count how many little smiling or winking faces I send in my texts and Facebook messages to close friends. Emoticons are so popular now that they’re becoming a language all their own…our kids are learning that language too, and it’s actually a fun way to get them to think about and express how they’re feeling!
This month, I’m over on the Tampico blog sharing a quick and super-simple DIY project I think you and your kiddos will enjoy. Make your own set of Emoticon Magnets using bottle caps and your favorite little faces. Happy, sad, angry, and everything in between! Then, use them to talk to your kids about how they’re feeling each day. Head on over for a list of supplies and a full how-to tutorial.
Tampico is also hosting a fun game this summer called emojiball where you can win awesome prizes by using emoticons! All you have to do is go to their Facebook page, Twitter, or Instagram, and post the 5 emojis of your choice from a selection of twenty-four. Use the hashtag #tampicoemojiball to enter and each week new winners will be chosen! You can enter once per platform each week. Good luck!
