When we experience something great, we naturally want to share it with a friend, right? Have you ever offered someone a bite of your dinner or a sip of your latte so they could see just how delicious it was? Cheerios™ understands.
That’s why they’ve created a very special “Buy a Box. Give a Free Box.” campaign – All you do is buy yourself a box of your favorite variety: original Cheerios™ in the Yellow Box, Honey Nut™, Multi-Grain™, Apple Cinnamon™, or Frosted Cheerios™ in a specially marked box exclusively at Walmart.
Each box has a peel off label containing a unique code. When you enter your code online, it will send an e-card and mail a coupon for a free box of Cheerios™ to any person you choose!
I knew right away that my best friend Erin was someone who would appreciate getting a free box of cereal for her family. Many of you know her as a contributor here on One Artsy Mama, so you’re well aware that she’s the busy mom of three little boys, ages 2, 4, and 5. She’s also expecting a baby girl any day now! Her boys love to eat and can go through a huge amount of food in a day. Cheerios™ not only make a great breakfast, they’re a portable and easy snack her kids can enjoy at home or on-the-go. She can even pack them in her eldest son’s lunchbox as a tasty, whole grain treat to help him get through his day in Kindergarten.
I’ve claimed all of Erin’s boys as my honorary nephews and love them like they’re family, so it feels awesome to be able to send them a treat! I just know they’ll get so excited about it and I love that I can save Erin and her husband a little on their grocery bill too. I mean, come on, look at this squishy little face. You’d want to give him Cheerios™ too!
I’m not sure which variety of cereal Erin and her family will choose to get with the coupon they receive, but our family’s favorite is Honey Nut™. With the feeling of fall in the air lately, I’ve been inspired to make some seasonal treats, so I used part of our box to create these delicious and simple S’mores on a Stick! It only takes three ingredients and about ten minutes to do, and they’re sure to be a hit!
Ingredients:
Honey Nut Cheerios™
Large Marshmallows
Milk Chocolate Candy Melts
Step 1: Place cereal in a bag and gently crush it into smaller pieces with a rolling pin.
Step 2: Place the chocolate candy melts in a microwave safe dish and heat according to package instructions.
Step 3: Insert a stick into each marshmallow and dip it into the melted chocolate.
Step 4: Gently roll the chocolate coated marshmallow into a dish of crushed cereal. Place it on a piece of foil or wax paper and allow the chocolate to harden.
That’s all there is to it! Now you have a delicious seasonal snack that’s easy to eat anywhere!
I don’t know about you, but I’m a fan, not just of these S’mores on a Stick, but also the “Buy a Box. Give a Free Box.” campaign! These specially marked boxes are available only at Walmart and for a limited time, so be sure not to wait too long to grab one and send someone their special treat.
Be sure to check out more delicious recipes and learn more about this special promotion. I’d love to hear who you’d share a box of Cheerios™ with!
As you may have heard, some select boxes of Cheerios™ and Honey Nut Cheerios™ produced over two weeks in July at the Lodi, California plant, have been recalled due to a wheat allergen. This recall only affects consumers with Celiac disease or a gluten-sensitivity. To learn more about the recall, and if your product is affected please go to: https://blog.generalmills.
