‘Tis the season for giving gifts and spending time with the ones we love! If you’re looking for last minute ideas your family and friends will love, why not consider some of your favorite classic games? They’re the kind of gifts that can be opened and enjoyed right away during your holiday festivities, not to mention all year long. Classic games from Hasbro gaming can help you “Get your family game on” and bring together generations for fun, laughter, and good-natured competition!
Here in the Artsy family, we own and play all kinds of classic favorites like Battleship, Monopoly, Sorry, Scrabble, Trouble, Connect 4, and more. All three of us love to play games, and it’s so much fun watching Little Crafter enjoy the same things that hubby and I used to play as kids. Lately, he has been obsessed with playing Jenga and trying to build the tallest tower he can.
At first, he wasn’t sure what kind of strategy to use, but I taught him all my secrets, like how to gently tap a block and see whether it’s loose or not, so now he’s a pro!
Our neighbors happen to be major game players too, so we often have Latta-Kemper family game nights where we all get together to enjoy each other’s company and some friendly competition. We just recently added Operation to our collection, so Little Crafter has been busy teaching our neighbors “Crafter Pal” and “Baby Crafter” how it works.
It’s really cute to watch them because they’re all at the age where they’re still fine tuning their motor skills. I showed Little Crafter my tricks for being awesome at this game too, like picking a spot on the game piece that’s slightly raised so that the tweezers have something to grab. He is starting to get the hang of it!
I just recently found out that my best friend Erin and her kiddos don’t have many of these games and her oldest boys are just getting to be the right age to start playing things like Connect 4, Twister, and the Elephun & Friends Hungry Hungry Hippos game. So, guess what they’re getting from “Aunt Amy”! There are so many fun classic games from Hasbro Gaming to choose from…are there family members, friends, co-workers, or neighbors in your life who would enjoy receiving one this Christmas? And don’t forget to get your own games out during your holiday celebrations to help you spend some quality family time together. Everyone loves a good game!
