Turn simple wooden clothespins into festive spring decor!
Author: Amy Latta

Equipment

  • paintbrush
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors

Materials

  • wooden clothespins
  • orange acrylic/multi-surface paint
  • green ribbon, assorted colors/widths
  • green paper Easter grass
  • hot glue sticks
  • peat pot (optional)

Instructions

  • Remove the metal clip from the clothespins and paint the wooden pieces orange.
  • Glue the flat sides of the wooden pieces together to form the carrot shape.
  • Cut ribbon and paper grass into 6” pieces. Create a bundle containing one piece of light green ribbon, one piece of dark green ribbon, and 3-4 pieces of grass. Tie it together in the center with a second piece of dark green ribbon.
  • Fold it in half with the knot at the bottom, and glue it to the top of the carrot.
  • Repeat the process to create as many wooden carrots as you like. You can display your carrots either individually or tied together on a tiered tray, a shelf, a mantel, or anywhere you want to put them.
