Teaching is my passion.

Because I love sharing creativity, I am always excited to make an appearance at guilds, shops, and special events where I can connect with you in person. I offer in-person trunk shows, as well as full and half day workshops, demonstrations, make and take projects, and book signings.

About Me

I’m Amy Latta, and I love to create beautiful things. Even more than that, I love to help others tap into their creativity to make the world a more beautiful place. I’m the author of 11 books on lettering, doodling, and quilting, and I’m also a fabric designer for Andover Fabrics. I regularly share creative ideas on lifestyle shows across the country, and I’m always looking for opportunities to connect with other makers in meaningful ways. Here are some of the ways I’d love to partner with you and your organization.

TRUNK SHOWS

A typical in-person trunk show lasts about an hour, including a time at the end for audience Q+A. I begin by sharing about my creative journey and how I went from being a school teacher to a blogger, which eventually led to becoming a quilter, an author, and a fabric designer for Andover Fabrics.

I bring a variety of my finished quilts for the “show and tell” portion, as well as smaller projects including table runners, pillows, purses and bags, and apparel. Many of the projects are featured in my book Quilting for Everyone, which I can also sell and sign at the show. Photographs of the projects are welcome.

There is no minimum or maximum number for trunk show attendance; I am happy to speak to as many people as you can fit in your space.

WORKSHOPS

If your guild or shop wants to do some hands-on learning, I love to teach workshops! Whether it’s at your meeting or as part of a retreat, I’m excited to tackle a project with you. I have taught classes of all sizes, in venues all over the country.

I offer half-day and full day workshops, depending on the skill/project your group would like to learn. My areas of expertise are quilting and applique as well as hand lettering and doodling. The projects/topics below are a sampling of workshops I currently offer, or we can talk about a custom workshop based on your group’s interests.

BOOK SIGNING/MEET & GREET

Looking for something more casual? I’d love to do a simple meet and greet and/or book signing for your next event. I am the author of 11 books, including Quilting for Everyone, Hand Lettering for Relaxation, and Doodle Everything.

Depending on the nature of your event, I can bring copies of the book(s) to sell and sign, OR your shop/organization can purchase them wholesale from your MacMillan rep and sell them yourself. Own a bookstore? I’d be happy to do a signing event in your space.

DEMONSTRATION/MAKE & TAKE

If you still want a project, but don’t have the time for a workshop, I can do a quick project demonstration with a simple make and take. This type of project takes less 5-10 minutes for participants to make, and requires very few supplies. Typically, my make and take project offerings are a paper-pieced fabric keychain, a hand lettered quilt label, or a fabric pinwheel. If you have another idea, I’m happy to brainstorm together and find a fast and easy project that will meet your needs.
