Hey, friends! Remember the other day when I shared my new Crochet Wrap Bracelet with you and I told you I had actually made a headband first? Here it is, along with a pattern you can use to make your own!
Just like the wrap bracelet, this project started with a cute little ball of yarn…Lion Brand gave it to me at CHA! I loved the color and the sparkle and was determined to come up with a project that wouldn’t require more yarn than what I had! Turns out, I was able to make this headband plus the wrap bracelet too and even have a little bit left over!
Materials:
– Lion Brand Yarn Bonbons
– Crochet Hook {size I/9}
– scissors
Row 1: Chain 10.
Row 2: dc {double crochet} in third chain from hook and in each ch across {8 dc}
Row 3: ch {chain} 1, turn, sc {single crochet} in each dc {8 sc}
Row 4: ch 2, turn, dc in each sc {8 dc}
Rows 5-?: Repeat rows 3 and 4 until the strip is long enough to wrap around your head somewhat tightly.
Fold in half, lining up the two short edges. Slip stitch in each stitch to join the ends together. Cut yarn and work ends in.
Now you have a super-simple new headband!
How do you like it? I loved that it matched my skirt, and it didn’t hurt that it helped keep my head a little warmer too! Brrr, that’s a lot of snow!!

Thanks for sharing…I have Granddaughters (all with LONG hair) & they will love these headbands…can’t wait to make some. Also, I like you “bio”, especially being passionate about JESUS!!! Yes, we have much in common (except I’m old enough to be your G’ma, but young at heart!) 😀

Thanks so much!! I’m so glad you stopped by! I’d love to see pics if you make some headbands for your granddaughters!

I tried making this and did not have enough yarn from the bon bons. I used an I hook too?? I am going to purchase another package and complete the headbands, just don’t understand why it wasn’t enough? Mine did not have the sparkles in the yearn.
dancers4life says
Hmm. Perhaps your stitches are looser/bigger than mine? Or your headbands are larger? There are many colors of the Bon Bons available; some with sparkles, some without.
Frances Holder says
With the sparkle yarn, I could make a complete headband, still working on the exact length that works well.
Danielle says
Love this headband! I’ve made 2 already for my girls and my daughter’s friend asked me to make one for her. I added a hair tie at the bottom to make it a bit stretchier.
So cute!!!
dancers4life says
Oh, I’m so glad to hear that Danielle! And the hair tie is a great idea!
