Chenille Pumpkins and Apples

Make a quick and easy chenille pumpkin or apple to decorate your home this fall!

How to Make Chenille Pumpkins and Apples

This project is quick and easy, perfect for crafters of all ages. Just grab the basic craft supplies listed below, and let’s get started.

Materials

  • pool noodle (3″ section)
  • 6 feet of chenille yarn (orange, red, or your choice of color)
  • brown felt (1 1/2″ x 5″)
  • hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • scissors

Instructions

  1. Place one end of your yarn inside the center of the pool noodle.

2. Wrap the yarn around the pool noodle until the entire surface is covered. Then, tuck the other end inside. If you like, you can glue the ends to secure them.

3. Roll up your 1 1/2″ x 5″ felt strip and glue the end to secure it. This will form your stem. Or, if you prefer, you can find a thick stick in the yard and saw it off to cut a 1 1/2″ wooden stem.

  • You should be able to get 15 pumpkins/apples from one 8 oz. skein of chenille yarn.
  • Feel free to cut your pool noodle into larger or smaller sections to create different sized pumpkins.
