I don’t know about your kiddos, but after a long day at school, mine typically comes home hungry and ready for a snack. Little Crafter is a big fan of Goldfish® crackers, so we always have at least one variety of them in the pantry, if not more. Recently, when we were stuck in the house thanks to 30 inches of snow from the blizzard of 2016, he and I decided to get creative and make our own special snack mix using several different flavors of Goldfish crackers plus a few other add-ins.
Here’s how we made it:
Ingredients:
1 cup Goldfish Colors
1 cup Goldfish Made with Whole Grain Cheddar
1 cup Goldfish Pretzel
1 cup Buttered Popcorn
1 cup Peanuts
Combine the ingredients into a large bowl and stir. It’s so simple to make, and with a little supervision, kids can make it themselves! Little Crafter loved helping to measure and mix. But his favorite part was definitely taste testing!
This recipe makes 5 cups of snack mix, which is about 5 servings. You can tweak it by using different flavor combinations of Goldfish crackers or other add-ins too. It’s a win-win for parents and kids, because it’s easy, affordable, quick, and delicious, as well as being better for you than lots of other snacking options.
And honestly, it’s not just for the kids! Hubby and I both found this snack mix delicious and have been eating it ourselves too. So, what are you waiting for? Run to your local Walmart like I did and look for your favorite varieties of Goldfish crackers in the cracker aisle.
Then, whip up your own batch of snack mix and share a smile with the little ones in your life.
What about you? What’s your favorite way to enjoy Goldfish crackers?
