Summer is finally here, friends! That means it’s time for so many of my favorite things, like warm weather, picnics, outdoor parties, and delicious summer meals! I love enjoying lighter dishes including fresh fruits and vegetables and sipping on ice cold drinks this time of year, what about you?
Iced tea is a perfect summer drink, and my favorite kind is Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea, because it’s made with all-natural ingredients that give it a wonderful true tea taste. There’s no artificial anything, so you can feel good about what you’re drinking. There’s a variety for everyone; choose your favorites from three levels of sweetness, plus black, green and my personal fave, rooibos tea. I picked mine up at my local Giant, where I found it both in the tea aisle and a special display near the register. If you’ve bought Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea before, you’ll notice that it’s gotten a little makeover with some sleek new packaging, but the taste is the same natural goodness you can always count on.
Personally, I love to pour the Rooibus variety in my favorite mug and enjoy it with complimentary tastes like fruit and chicken. It pairs perfectly with this Grilled Chicken and Strawberry Spinach Salad I created, and I’ve enjoyed this meal quite a few times already this summer. Since I came up with the recipe, you can rest assured that it’s quick and easy! It’s also not an exact science…I don’t measure out the ingredients when I create mine. Feel free to do the same and add more or less of each ingredient depending on your personal taste!
- fresh spinach
- strawberries, sliced
- honey glazed almonds
- red onion, sliced
- pre-cooked grilled chicken strips
- flaked coconut
- poppyseed dressing
- Place spinach in a bowl.
- Add sliced strawberries, glazed almonds, and red onion.
- Heat grilled chicken strips in a saucepan on the stovetop until warm. Add to salad.
- Lightly toast coconut in a toaster oven or on the stovetop and sprinkle on salad.
- Serve and add dressing to taste.
This fruity salad pairs perfectly with Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea, particularly the Sorta Sweet and Rooibos varieties! The tastes complement each other well and make for a delicious, healthy lunch or dinner.
You can easily create one individual salad for yourself, or create a large salad to share with family and friends! Personally, I love that it’s so simple to do and takes hardly any time at all to put together. All I have to do is toss a few ingredients, grab my tea, and I’m ready to go.
What do you think, is this a meal you and your family would enjoy? Which variety of Snapple® Straight Up™ Tea would you try first? I’d love to hear about your favorite summer recipes and treats!
