6 Easy Summer Doodles

Summer Doodles

One of my favorite ways to embellish a hand lettered card, sign, or project is with colorful doodles. Now that summer has officially arrived, here are six simple illustrations that are perfect for your summertime projects! Take a look

SUNSHINE

Start by drawing a simple circle. Then go around that circle with a series of short curving lines. Color it in, and you’ve got a bright sunshine!

SAND BUCKET

First, draw two diagonal lines that are farther apart at the top than the bottom. Connect them at the top and bottom with curving lines. Add one more curving line in the back to finish off the bucket shape, then draw the handle. Color in the bucket, and you’re finished!

WATERMELON SLICE

Draw a triangle with a slightly curving bottom. Then, draw a second curving line slightly above the bottom one. Add seeds and color!

BEACH BALL

Start with a circle, then use curving lines to divide it into three (or more) parts. Fill in each part with a different color.

FLIP FLOPS

Draw two shapes that resemble beans (ovals that are squished in on one side). Add a short vertical line and a double “v” shape for the straps. Color and enjoy!

ICE CREAM CONE

Start with an upside down semi-circle. Then, add a line with several “bumps” across the bottom. Draw a triangle underneath for the cone. Then, add details, like lines on the cone, chips in the ice cream, and a cherry on top! Color it in to represent your favorite flavor!

All of these doodles are easy to create and will add a summery touch to your next project. For more doodle and embellishment ideas, be sure to check out my Beach Doodles and Patriotic Doodles posts!
