Looking for a new farmhouse style door or wall sign? Why not create your own? This “farm fresh” sign is easy to make and will be a great addition anywhere in your home.

You’ll need:

Large wooden circle plaque (I got mine from Michaels)

Cricut Maker 3 or other electronic cutting machine

Farm Fresh Image

Smart Vinyl – Black

Transfer Tape

Scissors

Weeding tools: optional

Assorted faux greenery

Ribbon and floral wire/wire cutters OR pre-made bow

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Step 1: Open the Farm Fresh project in Cricut Design Space.

Just click to open the project here and follow the prompts to see the image on your canvas, as shown below. My wooden sign is 18″, so I sized the image to around 12″. If you are working with a smaller wooden circle, you may want to grab a corner of the image and resize it.

Step 2: Cut the image from black vinyl.

Once you’re happy with the image on your canvas, choose “Make it,” and you’ll be prompted to choose your material type and load it into the Cricut machine. Follow the prompts to load and begin the cut, and let the Cricut work its magic.

Step 3: Weed the vinyl.

This means peeling away all of the vinyl that’s not part of your image, including the areas inside of letters and in between shapes. You can use your fingers to do this, or for small areas, you may find a weeding tool helpful.

Step 4: Apply transfer tape.

Cut a large piece of transfer tape (it should be bigger than your design) and remove it from its backing. Place it on top of your weeded design, and rub firmly to help the vinyl stick to the adhesive of the transfer tape.

Step 5: Peel the transfer tape and vinyl away from the backing sheet and place it on your wood.

Note: My wood circle came pre-whitewashed, so it was ready to use immediately. If you got one that’s natural wood instead, you’ll want to paint it first. I recommend white, but of course you can use any color you like!

Position your image on the sign, then rub to adhere. Peel the transfer tape away and you’ll be left with your vinyl design on the wooden sign!

Step 6: Add greenery and a bow.

I found this faux eucalyptus, along with a few other faux leaves and berries at Walmart. I made it into two bunches, which I wired together. Then, I made a bow and attached it to the center of the greenery. Finally, I hot glued it all to the sign.

That’s all there is to it! Of course, you could also use this basic project idea and customize it to fit your home and decor in any way you like! Choose a different design, a different color of vinyl, a different ribbon, or anything else you can think of to make yours one of a kind. If you create one, I’d love to see how it turns out; be sure to share it in our Amy Latta & Friends Facebook Group so we can all be inspired! See you there!

PS. If you like this idea, don’t forget to save it to Pinterest and/or share with a friend!
