Plush Candy Corn Instructions

Cut your fabric into the following pieces:

2.5” x 6” strips: 2 white, 2 orange, 2 yellow

Sew your strips together to form two 6.5” x 6″ rectangles.

Each one should have a white strip on top, orange in the middle, and yellow on the bottom. To do this, place the white strip face down on top of the orange strip (face up) and sew a 1/4” seam along the edge. Open the fabric and press with an iron so it lays flat. Then, lay the yellow strip face down on top of the orange strip (face up), and sew a 1/4” seam along the bottom edge. Open and press.

Cut two identical triangle shapes from your rectangles.

I recommend using a triangle template to help you cut straight lines.

Hand stitch a smile onto one of the triangles with black thread or embroidery floss.

Or, if you prefer, you can draw on a smile using a permanent fabric marker.

Place the triangles right sides together and sew a 1/4” seam around the edges, leaving an opening in the bottom.

Turn right side out and stuff with Poly-Fil.
Hand stitch the opening shut.

I recommend using yellow thread so your stitches aren’t visible.

Glue on eyes and a bow (optional).

Feel free to add any other decorative touches to personalize your candy corn.

Now your project is ready to display on a mantel or shelf and bring some seasonal cheer to your home!

Crafting Tips

  • You can make different sized plush candy corn if you like; just use wider/longer strips and cut bigger triangles.
  • Instead of crafting just one, try making a set of candy corn and arranging them in a bowl.
  • While candy corn is traditionally white, orange, and yellow, you can experiment with making an alternately colored plush.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I don’t have a sewing machine?

You can hand stitch the fabric together, it will just take longer! Or, you can cut shapes out of felt and glue them together rather than using fabric.

Do I have to add a face?

Nope! It’s your project! You can make just a plain candy corn plush if you prefer.
