Hey, friends! For today’s Fashion Friday, I thought I’d share with you the outfits I put together for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Take a look!
Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, we host lunch for hubby’s side of the family and my parents, then open gifts with all the Lattas. Then, in the evening, we have a candlelight service at church. While none of it is super-formal, I felt like dressing up a little for the occasion. I chose an outfit that was festive yet comfortable, and appropriate for both events, as well as all the family photos I knew we would be taking.
Both my green dress and my cardigan came from my December Stitch Fix. They were the two items I kept, and I love that not only are they great pieces on their own, they work together too! I paired them with a wide belt from Pick Your Plum, black glittered tights, and tall black heeled boots. To accessorize, I chose a layered bracelet from Charming Charlie, and my Star Necklace from Kendra Phillip.
My favorite finishing touch was that I was actually able to curl my hair with the help of my Christmas present from my in-laws! The one and only thing I actually asked for this year was the Conair Curl Secret; I was super-intrigued by it even though I was a little skeptical too. My hair is absolutely straight; there’s not a bit of natural curl or wave to it whatsoever, so I have a really hard time getting any kind of curl to go in, much less stay in. But this actually worked!! Like a charm! It took a while since I have a lot of hair, but I got some fun beachy waves with my very first attempt! Here’s one more quick family photo; you can see the bottom of the dress in this one, which is part of the fun.
Christmas Day
I absolutely love that I don’t have to travel anywhere on Christmas day! We have a quiet morning together opening gifts and spending time just the three of us, then my parents come over around 1 PM. Later in the evening, my grandmother, my in-laws, and some good friends come over for dinner. I didn’t really “need” to dress up since it was a casual family day, but once I finally changed out of my pajamas at noon, I decided on this festive outfit that still made me totally comfortable for everything we were doing.
The gold polka dot shirt is from my November Stitch Fix and I built the rest of the outfit around it because I love it so much. I thought the metallics were perfect for the hlidays! I layered it over top of a black lace dress from Express and a pair of black leggings. The leggings allowed me to get down on the floor and play games with the kiddos without worrying about being unladylike. To accessorize, I chose a gold belt from NY&Co, a bracelet from Charming Charlie, and my Kendra Phillip star again. I finished off the look with my Yosi Samra ballet flats from my trip to Lucky FABB; they’re nude with black lace. Unfortunately, you can’t see them too well in the photo…this is the only one hubby took where you can see them at all; apparently he was more interested in other parts of the outfit. 😉
On Christmas Day, I also got a chance to play around with the Curl Secret for the second time. I came at it with a plan this time and I liked the results even better than my first attempt. I am so excited I can get curls so easily! Meanwhile, what about you? Did you go casual or dressy this year? I’d love to hear about the holiday outfits you put together!

I love your cardigan in your first outfit and in your second outfit I love how you put the shirt over your dress, I am obsessed with doing that. Great outfits!

I LOVE that cardi! There’s something about the gray border that just speaks to my heart – you’re always so cute in your dresses. I feel like I need to dress my outfits up a bit after reading this post!

Look at your curls!! And green looks great on you. We did casual. I’m finally hopping on the leggings and boots bandwagon… must mean it’s about to go out of style, LOL.

Love your family pic in front of the tree! LC’s slippers and the bow that looks like it’s sitting on your hubby’s head! You are all adorable! You look beautiful, as always, hon 🙂
