I started out with the original Silhouette Studio software, then upgraded to the Designer Edition about six months later, and I really like having all the extra features! Let me show you the most recent project I made with the help of my Cameo {Cammie!} and my Designer Edition Software.
LOVE WATERCOLOR CANVAS
To create this, I started with a blank canvas and my Silhouette Cameo. I chose a font I liked, typed “love,” and then used the ruler and grid lines to make sure it would be sized appropriately to fit the canvas. I cut the word from adhesive vinyl, then stuck the vinyl to my canvas.
Then, I had way too much fun mixing colors and playing around creating various shades of red, orange, and pink with my new set of “big girl” watercolor paints and brushes. I painted right over the vinyl letters.
As soon as I was finished painting, I pulled up the vinyl word to reveal blank canvas underneath, creating a reverse stencil effect.
It’s my new favorite piece of Valentine’s Day decor!

If you want really clean lines, use a coat or two of mod podge before painting your canvas, it makes a world of difference!
