Easy DIY Cork Trivet

Easy DIY Cork Trivet

A few months ago, my friend Vanessa {our resident Sweet Stuff contributor} and I went out for dinner at a local restaurant and saw a sign with the quote, “Feed me and tell me I’m pretty.” We both thought it was great, and I was determined to create something featuring it for my house. Today, I picked up some cork squares on sale at Michaels and decided to turn the quote into a trivet for my new kitchen. Here’s how I did it and so can you…

Materials:
– 6×6 Cork Trivet {Mine was part of a 4 pack at Michaels}
– Black Adhesive Vinyl
– Silhouette Cameo or other cutting machine
– Transfer Paper

Step 1: Cut your saying from adhesive vinyl.
You can design any saying you like, or you can grab the cut file I used for this one from Google Drive and save it to your computer.
*If you don’t have an electronic cutting machine, you can purchase alphabet stickers instead and use them to spell out anything you like!*

Step 2: Use transfer paper to remove the vinyl from its background and place it onto the trivet.
Press firmly, remove your transfer paper, and the vinyl should be adhered to the cork.

That’s all there is to it! So simple and so fun! These can be customized any way you like, with any quote you like or with a family name, etc. Keep them for yourself, or give them as a gift; wouldn’t they be great for a bride-to-be, a hostess, or for a housewarming party?
