Mega Glitter Pop Socket

Raise your hand if you have a PopSocket for your phone. In case you’re not familiar with this nifty little gadget, a PopSocket is an expandable button that attaches to your phone case and serves as a both a grip and a stand. They’re removable and they can even work on your tablet too.

I was having trouble finding one I loved, so I did what I usually do…decided to customize my own! It was incredibly easy to do and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Here’s what I used:

Materials:

a PopSocket

Mod Podge Mega Glitter

Paintbrush

The PopSocket I used was just plain white, but you could really use any color or even an old one with a pattern you don’t want anymore. The glitter will cover the top completely, so you can use whatever you have!

There’s literally only one step to this project:

Cover the top of the PopSocket with Mod Podge Mega Glitter.

I used Gold, but you could also use Silver or Hologram. To get total coverage, you’ll want to apply a thick layer of the Mod Podge. Rather than doing a normal painting motion, think more of applying it like cake frosting. Allow it to dry completely, then add another coat if necessary. Apply as many coats as you need to cover the surface completely, allowing it to dry in between.

Since Mod Podge is a sealer, there’s nothing else you need to do. As soon as the Mod Podge is totally dry, your PopSocket is ready to use! How fun is that?! I love the way it coordinates with my phone case, and the sparkles just make me smile.
