Merry Christmas, friends! To celebrate this special holiday, I created a piece of hand lettered art based on the words of John 1:14. This image is my gift to you, in the form of a free 8×10 Christmas printable. You can download it in two color versions below, then print it out to frame for personal use.

I love these verses, because this is the miracle of Christmas. God made Himself visible, audible, and tangible. In the Old Testament, only the high priest could go into His presence once a year. There’s a story of a man reaching out to touch the Ark of the Covenant to keep it from falling, and literally being struck dead because he couldn’t bear contact with its holiness. Then came Jesus; God with skin on. Mary, a peasant from Nazareth, swaddled Him and changed His diapers. Joseph held His hands and taught Him to use the tools of a carpenter. The holy Creator of the Universe let Himself be held. He became Emmanuel, God with us, because it was the only way we could be with Him forever. This Christmas season, may the miracle of the incarnation touch your heart and remind you that the God of the Universe traded a throne for a manger for you.
