Beach-Inspired Photo Frame

When it comes to summer…or really anytime…my favorite place to be is the beach! Let’s create a one-of-a-kind, ocean-inspired photo frame that you can use for your favorite vacation picture. All you need are a few very simple supplies; take a look!

You’ll need:

Plastic or composite photo frame (I used this one from Walmart)

Tombow ABT PRO Alcohol-Based Markers, your choice of colors

Rubbing alcohol

Small paintbrush

Step 1: Scribble areas of color around the frame.

The ABT PRO markers are dual tipped, with a brush tip and a chisel tip. Either one will work for this project. Leave a little bit of white space in between your colored sections to allow room for the ink to blend. I used shades of blue and teal for my frame, but you can use any colors you like; just make sure they are shades of the same color or are in the same color family so they look great when blended.

Step 2: Use a brush dipped in alcohol to blend the colors.

When the rubbing alcohol comes in contact with the ink, it will cause the dye to move around on the frame. The more alcohol you add, the more fluid the colors become. I like to move my brush in a circular motion as I blend.

That’s all there is to it! I had so much fun creating this, and I love the way it looks with our photo inside. If you try this project, I’d love to see how yours turns out. Make sure to hop over to the Facebook Group Amy Latta & Friends and join in so you can share your project photos in our weekly show and tell thread.
