Well, friends, remember how I told you it’s a busy time here in Artsy Land? In the midst of everything else we’ve been doing, this week is Vacation Bible School! I’m teaching Little Crafter’s class, which means that on any given day I have up to six adorable 2 and 3 year olds to work with. Of course, one of my favorite parts is coming up with fun crafts for them to do!
On Tuesday, our story was Jesus feeding a huge crowd with just five loaves of bread and two fish, so it made sense to do some fish-themed crafts and activities, like this simple beaded fish keychain. I already had all the supplies on hand, thanks to our friends at Craftprojectideas.com, and the kids absolutely loved them!
BEADED FISH KEYCHAIN
Materials {per fish}:
– one pipecleaner
– assorted tri-beads {about 45}
– keychain ring
Step 1: Form heart shape in the center of the pipecleaner and twist below it several times.
Step 2: Thread beads on both pipecleaner ends.
Step 3: Add keychain, then twist ends together to secure.
This project was simple enough even for little crafters like mine, and they were really proud of their finished fishies! Thanks a million to Craftprojectideas.com for sending us goodies like pipe cleaners and tri-beads that are useful not just to craft with, but to help us remember our Bible stories too! What are your favorite pipe cleaner and bead crafts?
Happy Crafting!

Great idea! I’m looking for economical crafts for our VBS and this looks great since the craft room theme this year is The Great Barrier Reef! 🙂
