Hey, mateys! Can you believe it’s August?! This summer is flying by, so it came as rather a shock this morning to realize that Little Crafter’s 5th birthday is just 10 short days away! He decided months ago that he wanted to have a Jake and the Neverland Pirates themed party this year, so I’ve been pinning and brainstorming for a while…but now it’s time to take action! Here are the Pirate Party Favors he and I made this afternoon for the little friends who will be coming over to celebrate with him!
{Spoiler Alert! If you happen to be a real life friend of the Artsy family whose child will be attending, you might not want to peek!}
Materials {per child}:
– bandana
– ring pop
– temporary tattoo
– “gems”
– chocolate coins
– plastic gold coins
– candy in gold wrappers
– plastic ring
– twine
I love that Little Crafter is at a great age for being helpful, and true to his usual character, he wanted to be very hands-on in making the favors!
First, I had him spread out all of the bandanas on the living room floor.
Then, we went through one type of treat at a time and he put the correct number of things on top of each bandana.
Here’s a close-up of what each child will be receiving inside the favor! They’ll also be getting more of some of these items, as well as some other fun take-home gifts during the party, but you’ll find out more about that later!
Little Crafter did a super-awesome job assembling these; he did all the work all by himself. {I mistakenly tried to help at one point and was told that he could handle it all by himself. Point taken.}
Once all the bandanas were stuffed, LC gathered them up and handed them to me one at a time so I could tie a piece of twine around the top. That’s all there is to it!
Easy peasy! Pirate Party Favors fit for any matey that comes our way! ARRRRRRRR! They’re pirate tested, pirate approved!

How cute!! He is very creative! When my son was about that age we used refrigerator boxes to build a pirate ship. We had such a fun time. You post brought back memories!
