Dudes! Are you ready for some more Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party fun? We’ve talked about the favors, the crafts, and the food…now it’s time to talk decorations! Check out these super easy and ridiculously cute TMNT Party Lanterns we created!
Materials:
– green paper party lanterns
– Oly*Fun: white, black, and orange/blue/purple/red
– Elmer’s glue
– straight pins
– scissors
– circle punches {Mine were 1 3/4″ and 1 1/4″}
Step 1: Inflate the party lanterns.
Step 2: Cut a strip of Oly*Fun that goes around the lantern and overlaps slightly. If you don’t have Oly*Fun, you can substitute fabric or crepe paper.
Step 3: Punch out two large white Oly*Fun circles and two smaller black ones for eyes. You can substitute felt or card stock for this part.
Step 4: Glue the eyes onto the mask.
Step 5: Wrap the mask tightly around the center of the lantern and glue or pin in place.
Now your lantern is ready to hang! We placed one in the entryway, surrounded by green streamers. Another went in the cutout area between the kitchen and dining room, and the third was hanging from a hook in the kitchen ceiling. After the party, they make fun decorations for in the birthday boy’s bedroom! Plus, since the mask is just pinned in place, you can easily take it off and use the lanterns by themselves if you want.
What do you think? Would these be a hit with the little turtle lovers you know?

I’m thinking of doing a Bubble Guppies birthday party for my son’s 2nd birthday. I might do a Mr Grouper version of this 🙂
