Friends, Thanksgiving is just a week and a day away, so my friend Kirsten from Sweet Tea and Saving Grace thought it would be fun to put together a little blog hop with some last minute recipes and table décor ideas for you.
Here at One Artsy Mama, we wanted to play along, so Erin came up with a really cute and simple place setting idea that doubles as a magnet after the big meal is over! Here she is to show you how you can make your own…
Gobble ’till ya wobble One Artsy Mama friends! It’s that time of year when we start thinking about our Thanksgiving Day plans. Whether you’re hosting or traveling, have a huge gathering, or it’s just a special intimate time with your family, it’s always fun to add some festive touches to the dinner table. In the spirit of the season, I {Erin} created an adorable Pilgrim turkey that is perfect as a place card for your table, then can adorn your fridge after dinner!
Magnetic Turkey Place Card
Materials:
-Silk Leaves
-Brown, Yellow, Orange Felt For the Turkey
-Googly Eyes
-Black, White, Yellow Felt or Construction Paper for Hat
-Clothespin
-Glue (I used hot glue)
-Scissors
-Magnet
Step 1-3: Cut out body parts, face parts, and hat parts out of felt and assemble with glue. Add googly eyes.
Step 4-5: Arrange the leaves to look like a turkey tail, and glue on to the back of the clothespin. Glue a magnet on the back of the clothespin.
Step 6: Glue turkey parts to the clothespin.
And that’s it! Easy-peasy, and so, so adorable. Mr. Turkey will be sitting at the table, ready to welcome any guest.
And when dinner is all done, and your tummies are ready to explode (um, gross, nevermind, pretend I didn’t type that), then Mr. Turkey is ready to adorn your fridge and hold your next shopping list (in case you might one day be hungry again).
Gobble Gobble, and Happy Thanksgiving friends!
