‘Tis the season for family, fun, and friends! It’s the perfect time for entertaining and enjoying the company of those you love best. My favorite times to make holiday memories are the special occasions when both my side of the family and hubby’s side are able to celebrate together. The first is Thanksgiving Day, when my parents and grandmother along with hubby’s parents and grandparents join us for dinner at our home. The second is Christmas Eve. Once again, our parents and grandparents come to our house, along with hubby’s brothers and their families, and we have a big, wonderful family reunion. This is by no means all of us, but here’s a picture of some of us being silly together a few years ago…it’s hard to get everyone in a photo together these days!
I always treasure those times, and I think about how wonderful it is for Little Crafter especially to have all of his grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, and uncles together in one place! I never had that as a child and I think it’s somewhat uncommon, which makes it even the more memorable. This year, we’ll also have the extra excitement of adding LC’s first cousin to the mix…I can’t wait to spend time snuggling my cute little niece!
Although it can be stressful being the hostess, I wouldn’t trade it, because I love making our home a warm and welcoming place for everyone to gather. I enjoy decorating and making things festive and fun, as well as preparing delicious treats for my guests. Here is a yummy, fruity cocktail that’s perfect for serving at any holiday occasion…it uses seasonal flavors like cranberry and apple, and has a special sparkle thanks to Canada Dry TEN® (10 calories, full flavor) and a bit of moscato.
Caramel Apple Sparkler Cocktails
- 1 cup Cranberry-Apple juice
- 2 oz Canada Dry TEN®
- 4 oz Moscato
- Fresh or frozen cranberries
- Caramel sauce
- Decorating sugar
- Pour 1 cup of juice into a pitcher.
- Add 1/2 cup of moscato and 1/4 cup of Canada Dry TEN® and mix.
- Dip the rim of each glass into caramel sauce, or into water/juice if you prefer.
- Immediately dip the glass into a bowl of decorating sugar. The sugar will stick to the rim for a pretty, festive effect.
- Pour your cocktail mixture into each glass.
- Add cranberries as a garnish, if desired.
It’s easy to make a child-friendly version too so the kids can join in the festivities. Simply double the Canada Dry TEN® and leave out the wine, or substitute 7UP® for the moscato, and you have a fun, fizzy drink they’ll love.
