Looking for a small but sweet gift to give this holiday season? Today I’m sharing a fun DIY project that lets you gift chocolate as well as a pair of gloves in the form of an adorable snowman?! Here’s how to make your own Candy Bar Snowmen.
You’ll need:
Flat candy bars
White construction paper (or printer paper)
Kid size gloves
Poly-Fil
Twine/string
Scrap of fabric or felt
Markers (black, orange, and your choice for buttons)
Tape
Step 1: Cut your paper and wrap it around the bar.
Overlap the paper in the back and use tape to secure it in place.
Step 2: Put a glove on one end and form the hat.
I added a little bit of Poly-Fil to the palm of the glove to give it some dimension. Then, I tied a piece of twine at the top. Bend the fingers backward and tie another piece of twine around the same spot, this time catching the tips of the fingers in the back, too.
If you’d like to make a pair of gloves part of the gift, just place one glove inside the other before completing this step. You can even ball up the second glove and use it in place of the Poly-Fil.
Step 3: Draw a face and buttons.
I used a Tombow MONO Drawing Pen to make circles for the eyes and buttons, a triangle for the carrot nose, a U-shaped smile, and eyebrows. Then, I used Dual Brush Pens to color in the nose and buttons.
Step 4: Tie a thin fabric/felt scrap around the bar for a scarf.
Cut off any excess, and your snowman is complete!
Now it’s ready to give as a gift and brighten someone’s day!
These are great for handing out to classmates, teachers, co-workers, neighbors, friends, and anyone else you want to share a sweet treat with this holiday season! Who in your life would love to receive one of these little snowmen? If you try this project, I’d love to see photos of your creations.
