Hi, friends! Hope you all had a fantastic 4th of July!
For those of you who read about my cupcake catastrophe and were on the edge of your seat to see how it all turned out, here’s a pic of the finished product {round 2}.
Noah had a ball helping me with the sprinkles, which was fun for both of us even though my floor was covered with blue sugar when he was finished.
And here’s a reminder of how cool they were on the inside…I thought that was the best part. Who’d have thought a little food coloring could make such a difference?
We had a wonderful time with both sides of the family together. I enjoyed eating some good old steamed crabs with Old Bay, a MD tradition, and we had lots of food and lots of fun.
Noah’s shirt for the day, “MR. INDEPENDENT” was absolutely perfect for him at this age and stage. If he says “I want to do it all by myself” at least fifty times a day. And if you do something he wanted to do, like turn off a light, he has to turn it back on again and then turn it off “his-self.” Silly kid.
He was so proud to serve “his” cupcakes…
…and he was just thrilled to have so many people he loves all in one place. All 4 grandparents, two great-grandparents, plus Mama and Daddy. I can’t remember a time in my life when all four of my grandparents were in the same place at the same time, so I feel like by doing combined family activities like this we’re really giving Noah a special gift.
Hubby and I got a rare picture of just the two of us…why do I suddenly feel so short?
And here’s my reminder that time flies…he’ll be 3 in a little over a month, and the big bed will be here on Thursday. What happened to my baby?!
By the way, still looking for a few guest posters to share some beachy-themed projects the first week of August! Even if you’ve never blogged before and have something you want to share, be my guest!

You could make seashells into pets with google eyes and colored cotton craft balls. Kind of like making a pet rock.

It looks like you had such a great holiday! It seems like Noah and Abbie are in a similar phase right now. She has to be the first one down the stairs to turn the light on too:) Good luck with getting all of the sprinkles up… it’s one of the only times I wish that I had a dog:)
