Top 10 of ’14!

Well, friends, 2014 is coming to a close, so I figured I might as well jump on the blogger bandwagon and look back on the Top 10 Posts from this year. These are the ten posts created in 2014 that received the highest number of page views…although, truth be told, there are older posts like the Bottlecap Snowmen and Crochet Coffee Cozy that still continue to get the most views of all. Enjoy this little walk down memory lane…

10. DIY Unikitty Costume
This was the year of the LEGO Movie, so it comes as no surprise that my simple DIY Unikitty costume was popular, especially around Halloween, although my costume was created for a friend’s themed birthday party!

9. Epic TMNT Party!
Planning this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles party was a ton of work…thank goodness I had Erin and my mom to help out. We paid attention to every detail, from the favor bags and “Sewer Slime” to the decorations, food, and more. We even created themed craft activities for the little guests to do like pizza magnets and turtle puppets. If you missed it, be sure to check out this post to see all the fun pieces that made this party rock!

8. Beaded Lantern
Earlier this year, I was invited to participate in a blog hop where everyone shared a project or recipe related to camping. I do not camp. No way, no how. But I did make a pretty little beaded lantern I thought would be fun to make with your kids. Erin says it’s completely impractical and that a squirrel would knock it over and set your tent on fire, which just further proves that I’m no camper. {She would know, she once wrote a whole research paper on squirrels in college.} But hey, at least these would be really pretty decor in your backyard or for an outdoor party!

7. Hammered Wire Coffee Mug Necklace
Although I’ve done lots of projects with wire and metal, I’d never tried hammering the wire and shaping it before. I was amazed how easy it was to create this awesome coffee mug necklace with nothing but a piece of wire, a hammer, and some pliers!

6. Crochet Wrap Bracelet
As always, crochet posts and patterns tend to be some of the most popular, so this fun little wrap bracelet made it into the Top 10. All you need is one little Lion Brand Bon-Bon of yarn, a hook, and a button to make your own.

5. Cat Bookmark
As many of you know, we added to our family this year…our sweet cat Fuzzy! She has completely turned me into a “cat lady,” just ask hubby. So, naturally I came up with a little cat shaped bookmark by shaping wire. It’s incredibly easy to do, believe it or not, and it’s a great gift for anyone who loves cats like I do!

4. Dichroic Glass Pendants with the Fuseworks Kiln
One of my crafting highlights this year, was getting the Fuseworks Microwave Kiln, which allows me to fuse small glass projects at home! This post shows how easy it is to use to create gorgeous dichroic pendants like this one.

3. Turtle Coffee Cocktail
This year, for National Coffee Day, Staples gifted me with a Verissimo system and challenged me to create a recipe using coffee. Erin and I got together and came up with this amazing Turtle Coffee Cocktail. It’s got coffee, chocolate, caramel, ice cream, Bailey’s, and a few other yummy ingredients, and we promise you’ll love it!

2. Crochet Headband
Once again, easy crochet projects topped the charts, with lots of views on this simple stretchy headband pattern. It’s incredibly quick to make and only requires one little “Bon Bon” of yarn.

1. Crochet Boot Cuffs
Apparently, boot cuffs were all the rage this year, as thousands of you checked out this easy-peasy crochet pattern. I hope some of you actually made and wear them…if so, let me know! I’d love to see your photos.
