Have you heard the news? In case you missed Erin’s clever Gender Reveal last week {in which I was so excited, I dumped out an entire cup of Starbucks!}, she’s having a GIRL! That’s right, this September she and her husband will welcome a baby girl into the “Crafty Chaos” of their home with three boys, two dogs, and two cats. The whole family is incredibly excited, and so is yours truly, {honorary} Aunt Amy!
Despite the fact that Erin already has lots of baby things on hand from her other three kiddos, I wanted to get her a few things that would be just for her new little lady. After all, Aunt Amy loves any excuse to go shopping. I headed to my local Walmart, where I was on a hunt for all things girly. Erin happens to be a Disney fanatic…so much so that she and her husband Steve spent “10 glorious days” in Disney World for their honeymoon, so I thought it would be fun to get some things for Baby Girl with some favorite characters on them. There were all kinds of Disney Baby products to choose from, so I picked some favorites.
The first thing I spotted and couldn’t resist was this sweet 4-pack of receiving blankets. Two of them feature Minnie Mouse and bright flowers, while the other two have a cute pink and white polka dot pattern.
Then I spotted this hooded towel featuring a tiara! Every girl dreams of being a princess, and now that Princess Charlotte is born, there’s even more royal baby fever! I’ve never met a kiddo who didn’t love hooded towels, so this is a gift Baby Girl can enjoy not just as an infant, but as she gets a little bigger too. Little Crafter still uses hooded towels after almost every bath or shower!
I remember from LC’s baby days that pacifiers can be a life saver, so I picked up these cute pink and purple Minnie Mouse ones in the hopes that they’ll help make Erin’s life a little easier.
Speaking of making life easier, I wish I’d had disposable placemats like these to use in restaurants and at friends’ houses when LC was younger! They’re so convenient and they stick in place to keep both food and the table clean. When you’re done, you can just toss them in the trash.
Finally, every baby needs bibs, and I doubted that Baby Girl would like the train and car ones she’d inherit from her brothers as much as these cute Winnie the Pooh ones! They came as a 4-pack; two feature Pooh himself, and two have a sweet feminine print. My favorite is the one with owls, squirrels, flowers, and trees. Erin is planning a woodland and meadow themed nursery, so I’m betting she’ll love it too. She also has a thing for squirrels…you’ll have to ask her about it sometime.
Once I had purchased the goodies, I needed to find a suitable container. An ordinary basket can certainly be reused, but I wanted something that Erin could really put to good use in the nursery. I chose a light pink canvas storage bin because I know Erin has shelves in her house that hold this type of bin already, and I thought it would be great for holding toys, diapers, or just about anything! The baby is going to be named after her grandmother, just with the first and middle names reversed, which make her initials CVK. To add a little bit of extra personalization, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the letters out of adhesive white vinyl for a monogram.
Once I peeled the letters off their backing and adhered them to the front of the bin, all that was left to do was fill it with the fun Disney Baby goodies I bought.
Ta-da! I love how cheerful and feminine it looks, and I know Erin is going to be so excited to have something girly in the house as she counts down the days until Baby Girl arrives.
I sure can’t wait to meet that little princess and spoil her as only an honorary aunt can! What are your favorite baby gifts to give and/or receive?
What a cute gift basket. I love how useful all these items are – and will continue to be. So much fun to welcome a princess to your friend’s family! #client
