CAKE: Washi Tape Flower Pens

Are you ready for more CAKE?  This month, Morena is here to show you a fun way to use your creative abilities and your washi tape to bring a smile to someone else!

One Artsy Mama

Aren’t we all ALWAYS looking for a pen?  The just seem to grow legs and walk away.  But pens never appear out of nowhere…until now!
This month, we will be leaving cheery pens everywhere for our CAKE activity.  How fun would it be for a receptionist, teacher, or nurse to come back to his or her desk and find a sweet flower pen?

Supplies:
Washi tape
scallop cut scissors
Pens and/or pencils

1.  Cut two twelve inch strips of washi tape.

2.  Overlap with the sticky sides touching in the center.

3.  Trim one edge with the scissors.

4.  Begin wrapping the tape around the pen end or eraser, bending the edges as you would when making paper flowers.  The sticky strip on the bottom will help adhere it.

5.  Wrap the pen/pencil and the base of the flower with green washi tape.

(Optional)
6.  Cut vellum paper.

7.  Wrap the bouquet and seal with a strip of washi tape.

8.  Delight your gift recipient with this cheery and useful bouquet!
