Hey, friends! It’s that time again…time for the next Krylon Mystery Box!
This time the box contained all kinds of goodies: a pack of reusable Hazel & Ruby stencil masks {letters and numbers}, two Shimmer Metallic spray paints, gold and silver leafing pens, red accent stones, a roll of red patterned washi tape, yellow stars cut from corrugated paper, wooden snowflake cutouts, a blank sign, gold beads, and brown paper.
My job was to use at least four of the provided materials and come up with a piece of holiday décor. Sometimes with the mystery box, it takes me a while to think about what I want to create, but this time the idea came to me almost as soon as I had fully unpacked the box. Here’s the holiday sign I created, and how you can make your own!
JOY SIGN
Materials:
– blank sign
– white and gold baker’s twine
– Hazel & Ruby Alphabet Letter Masks
– Krylon Shimmer Metallic Green Shimmer Spray
– Krylon Gold Leafing Pen
– Wooden Snowflake Cutouts
– Krylon ColorMaster White Spray Paint
– Clear Glitter
– scissors
– hot glue gun and glue
Step 1: Place the stencil masks for the word JOY in the center of your sign. Remove the hanger and spray the entire sign with Krylon Shimmer Metallic Green.
Step 2: Spray two more coats, allowing the paint to dry completely in between.
Step 3: Remove the mask stencils when the paint is thoroughly dry. Color in the white spaces using the gold leafing pen.
Step 4: Spray the snowflakes with two coats of white paint. Sprinkle with glitter while the second coat is still wet.
Step 5: Glue the snowflakes onto the sign.
Step 6: Tie a piece of white and gold baker’s twine to the sign to serve as a hanger.
You all know I’m a sucker for things that sparkle and shine and this does both! I can’t wait to hang it on the front door this holiday season! Thanks for the fun challenge, Krylon!
