Thanks to Elmer’s for sponsoring today’s post and for being all around awesome. Although I was compensated for this post, all opinions are honestly my own.”
How many of your kiddos have/had a class pet? Fortunately for us, Little Crafter’s class pet isn’t a live one, it’s a cute stuffed monkey named Millie. Each Friday, a student’s name is randomly chosen and he or she gets to take Millie home for the weekend. Then, on Monday, the student has to share with the class about Millie’s adventures. Little Crafter has been waiting and waiting for his turn, and it finally arrived! He and Millie have been inseparable since Friday afternoon. Here’s the poster we made to tell all about their weekend, with the help of some of Elmer’s new Board Mate products
There are lots of benefits to being One Artsy Mama, one of which is that we often have a really great variety of supplies to choose from when we have a project to create. Recently, Elmer’s sent us some samples of their Board Mate products, including their Extra Strength Glue Stick, Mounting Tape, Repositionable Letters & Numbers, Glitter Shakers, and more. These are available in Target starting this month, and will also be in Hobby Lobby, Michaels, and Meijer! We decided these would be just what Little Crafter needed to help him make a poster of his weekend adventures with Millie.
Here’s what we ended up using:
– Elmer’s Bi-Fold Foam Board
– Board Mate Dual Tip Glue Pen
– Board Mate Bright Letter & Number Stickers
– Board Mate Assorted Sticker Shapes
– Board Mate Dual Tip Markers
– photos
First, Little Crafter used stickers to spell out “Millie and Me” as a title for his poster. I learned during this step that the stickers can be easily removed and repositioned if necessary. Whew!
We had planned out where he wanted the pictures to go, so after he attached the letters, he used the glue pen to glue the photos in place.
I asked him to tell me about some of his favorite things that he and Millie had done together and I wrote them using the permanent markers all over the board. Then, he had fun putting star, heart, and circle stickers all around the photos and words to add the finishing touch.
Can you tell they had a wonderful weekend? Now, Little Crafter can’t wait to show his class the poster and tell them all about it! He is so proud of his poster, and Millie approves too.
What projects in your life would be made easier with the help of Elmer’s Board Mate accessories?

We used lots of Elmer’s products with 2 Elmer’s trifold boards for our 2 JrFLL teams’ “Show Me” poster. Both posters got rave reviews for how nice they looked. 🙂

Great looking poster—but how could it be otherwise with a cute kid, great pet and great supplies?

He did such a great job on the poster. I love that they have a fake pet instead of a real one. It makes it easy to take care of and great for the parents when its your turn. Love the pictures too!! I have used tons of Elmer products with my girls while they were growing up. It is a staple in our house.

I love Elmer’s products! It is great that he was able to do a lot of the project himself. My 4 year old always wants to be able to do everything herself, so the more I can I can allow her to do that, the more fun we have!
