Rustic Fall Wreath

Rustic Fall Wreath DIY

Raise your hand if you’re excited for fall! Although I’m always sorry to see summer go, I have to admit that I do have a fondness for this time of year. I’ve just started to do some seasonal decorating around the house, including the front door. Today, I wanted to show you the rustic fall wreath I made in less than half an hour, and how you can create your own.

Rustic Fall Wreath

Last year, I created a wreath with “Happy Fall” pennants and some seasonal berries. It was fun and festive…and apparently tasty too, because our cat Flynn decided to try and eat it while it was in storage. Fortunately, the grapevine wreath base itself survived, and so did two of the berry picks. I decided to use those along with a few new elements to create something for this year.

Assembling the Wreath

Step 1: Wrap burlap ribbon around the wreath.
Start by securing it in the back with floral wire or glue, then wrap it at evenly spaced intervals going around the wreath. Secure the other end in the back where it meets.

Step 2: Create a bow using the burlap ribbon.
Wire the bow to the right side of your wreath.

Step 3: Place two berry picks on the side of the wreath, tucking their ends under the bow.
One will come from the bottom and the other from the top.

Step 4: Repeat step 3 using the burlap flower picks.
Glue or wire the picks in place.

There it is, just a few simple steps and basic materials and you’ve created a pretty seasonal wreath! What do you think? Is this something you’d like to display on your front door?
