Practice Makes Progress: My New Guided Journal!

For years, I’ve had a passion for helping others to discover, explore, and express their creativity. That’s the heart behind everything I do in this space. Whether it’s a blog post, a television segment, a workshop, a social media show and tell thread, or a book, my goal is always to help you create in whatever ways you love most. That’s why I am so excited to share my newest project with you.

It’s called Practice Makes Progress: My Creative Journal, and it’s coming December 7, 2021!

Titled with my favorite catch phrase, this is a very special book that’s unlike any of the others I’ve written before. While my previous books are instructional hand lettering workbooks, this book isn’t focused on lettering or any one type of art. Instead, it’s an illustrated guided journal that’s designed to open your eyes and your mind to expressing your own creativity in a myriad of ways. Each chapter is based on a different quote about creativity, and contains multiple exercises based on what that quote has to say. Some of the exercises involve writing or sketching in the journal, while others encourage you to go and create something in whatever way you love best. Write a poem, compose a song, carve from wood, sew, embroider, paint, sculpt, or do whatever other creative exercise is meaningful to you.

This journal is for you. Whether you are someone who doesn’t feel very creative or artistic at all, a professional artist, or anywhere in between, this journal is designed with you in mind. My hope is that it will inspire you, challenge you, and help you along your own creative journey.

We are just three months away from the release date, and I’m excited to announce that Practice Makes Progress: My Creative Journal is available for pre-order in a number of locations. Then, it will appear at your door on December 7! This journal also makes a great gift idea for anyone on your holiday gift list, so feel free to order a few. 😉

I can’t wait for you to see this journal and put it to use. And I can’t wait to see all the things it will inspire you to make as you walk through an exploration of your own creativity! As always, thank you so much for joining me in this adventure and making it possible for me to do something I love so much. Without you, this website, the books, and all the other things here at wouldn’t exist, and I am incredibly grateful.
