Quilt Inspired Cards

Did you know that March is National Quilting Month, National Craft Month, and Women’s History Month? Today, I have a special craft project for you that will help you celebrate all three at the same time: Quilt Inspired Cards in the style of the famous Gee’s Bend Quilts.

Image is a collage featuring two photos of finished quilt inspired cards and craft supplies, as well as the project title. It is intended for saving to Pinterest.

How to Make Quilt Inspired Cards

This project is so fun and easy; anyone can do it, and each finished card will be beautifully unique. All you need are a few supplies and your creativity. I’m sharing the full tutorial for each of these designs on the Tombow USA Blog, along with a detailed supply list. Plus, learn all about the quilters of Gee’s Bend and their gorgeous works of art. Head there now to get started!

Image contains two kraft-colored cards opened to show the inside, where the phrases “love you to pieces” and “you are sew fabulous” are written in black ink. A closed card, decorated with colorful strips of cardstock in a geometric pattern, sits on top, along with a mechanical pencil, two black markers, and an adhesive runner.

Crafting Tips

  • Challenge yourself to try different color combinations and step outside your comfort zone.
  • Embrace the handmade look with all its imperfections and variations, just like the quilters of Gee’s Bend!
  • Don’t limit yourself to cards, try making a larger piece of art in this style and framing it to hang in your craft studio.
