Hand Lettered Wallet Gift Idea

November 18, 2015 by dancers4life 3 Comments

Hand Lettered Wallet

Are you making your gift list and checking it twice? I’ve got an idea for you today that takes five minutes, less than five dollars, and two supplies. Are you ready? Check out these hand-lettered wallets!

You’ll need:
a wallet
Elmer’s Painters Silver Paint Marker

I found my wallets in the jewelry and accessories clearance section at Target. They were originally almost $13 a piece and I got them for right around $4.

All I did was letter my messages onto the wallets using a silver metallic paint marker. I free handed the lettering and wrote on an angle so it wouldn’t matter that my words weren’t perfectly straight.

Hand Lettered Wallets

To do the lettering, I followed the simple steps illustrated in my Basic Hand Lettering Tutorial: I wrote my words normally, leaving a little extra space between letters, then went back and thickened each downstroke.

I’m loving how these turned out, and of course you can personalize them to say literally anything you want! They’d make great Christmas gifts; you could use a friend’s name or monogram or a favorite saying to make them totally personal! And for right around $4 a piece, you can’t beat it! What would yours say?
