Thanks to Crates and Pallet for sponsoring today’s post. All opinions are honestly my own.
Now that the holidays are behind us, it’s time to get our homes organized for the New Year, right? I’ve been working to de-clutter and get things in great shape, and one of my favorite ways to do it is by using crates. They’re such a great mixture of function and style! One of my big goals right now is to organize the kitchen and pantry, so I decided to create this Wine Storage Crate…take a look!
You need:
Large Divided Crate {Or large crate and a piece of wood, approximately 9 x 17″}
Matte Spray Paint, White
Sharpie Brush Tip Marker, Black
Step 1: Paint your crate.
I’ve used lots of different types of paint and stain before, including chalky finish paint and Thompson’s WaterSeal. This time, I decided to try spray paint, which went a lot quicker!
Step 2: Hand letter the names of some wine varieties onto the sides of your crate using the brush tip Sharpie.
Trust me, this is way easier than it looks! Anyone can do it…check out my Basic Hand Lettering post to see how simple it is. You can also use stencils or adhesive vinyl letters if you prefer.
That’s all there is to it! If you start with a regular large crate instead, the only additional step you’ll need to do is add your extra piece of wood to the center as a divider.
Step 3: Organize those bottles!
I decided to put whites on one side and reds on the other. How would you organize yours?
Home Depot’s Winter Storage event is going on now through January 31st, and you can find the Crates & Pallet Large Crate in all locations as a special buy! Make sure to grab a few for your own organization projects to start the year off right.

I love crates! I’ve been wanting to do a crate to hold towels rolled up in the bathroom – I’d like to make it cute! As a newlywed, we had done our kitchen with crates – the shelves, etc. and a spool table for our kitchen table, crates to sit on! I still love crates!
