How to Make Easy Fabric Firecrackers
These festive little decorations are easy to create; all you need are a few basic supplies, including fabric and Poly-Fil. They’re a great beginner level sewing project for crafters of all ages, and they’ll bring a patriotic feel to your home decor all season long.
Materials
patriotic fabric scraps
scissors or rotary cutter and ruler
twine
Poly-Fil
needle and thread

Cutting
Cut your fabric into the following sized pieces for each firecracker. The smaller pieces will be the tops, and the larger ones will be the bottoms.
Large – (2) 4 1/2” x 4” and (2) 4 1/2” x 12”
Medium – (2) 4 1/2” x 3 1/2” and (2) 4 1/2” x 7”
Small – (2) 4 1/2” x 3” and (2) 4 1/2” x 6″
Instructions
Note: The instructions are the same, no matter which size firecracker you are creating.
Place one of the top and one of the bottom pieces right sides together and sew together with a 1/4” seam.
This will form the front of your firecracker.

Repeat for the back.

Fold an 8” piece of twine in half and pin it in the center of the top piece with the fold at the top and the ends facing down.

Lay the front and back pieces right sides together and stitch around the outside edges with a 1/4” seam. Leave a 3” opening in the bottom.

Turn your fabric firecracker right side out.

Fill it with Poly-Fil, then hand stitch the opening shut.

Tie a knot in the twine, then trim it as desired.
