Cork Firecracker Decor
Get ready for the summer holidays with a patriotic project! This Cork Firecracker Decor is inexpensive and simple to create.

How to Make Cork Firecracker Decor
This quick and easy project is a great way to add a festive touch to your home decor. All you need are a few basic supplies, including corks and fabric scraps. Grab the materials below and let’s craft!
Materials
- straight wine corks
- patriotic fabric scraps
- red, white, and blue tinsel cocktail picks
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
- scissors
- twine (optional)
Instructions
Cut your fabric scraps into 1.5” x 3” strips.
Wrap a strip of fabric around each cork and secure with hot glue.

Poke a hole in the center of the cork.
You can use any sharp, pointed object (like an ice pick) to do this. I used a pointed weeding tool that goes with my electronic cutting machine. Be very careful, and make sure that an adult does this step for any little crafters making the project.

Break off the cocktail pick just below the foil, and insert it into the hole.
You can add a drop of hot glue to hold it in place if you like, but mine held tightly without any.

Trim the tinsel.

You can certainly display these little firecrackers individually, or you can create bunches of three by following the next step.
Optional: Arrange 3 firecrackers in a group and secure them together with a tied piece of twine.

Crafting Tips
- Different fabrics will give you firecrackers a totally unique look.
- This is a great project for using up your scrap fabric.
- These can be displayed on a mantel, shelf, tiered tray, or anywhere else you like!
- Add a tag with a name written on it, and these can also become place cards.
