Easiest Ever Polka Dot Dish

Polka Dot Dish

I’m going to age myself a little here…it’s been 10 years since I stepped into a classroom as a teacher, and 14 since my last first day as a student. And yet, every time August rolls around and the stores break out the fresh new school supplies, I still want all the things. I have a weakness for stationery and clips and notebooks and binders…I can’t explain it. Sometimes I can’t resist picking up a few things for myself. I mean, hey, I have a business so that justifies office supplies, right? Last week I was in Target and saw the cutest little gold glitter polka dot stickers ever and I just couldn’t leave them on the shelf. They came home with me, and I used them to create literally the easiest ever polka dot dish to sit on my desk and hold all the adorable clips I really don’t need. Take a look…

I think this dish technically belongs to my mother-in-law who left it at our house one time after bringing some food for a family event. It’s been sitting on a shelf in our house for at least three years now, so I figured it’s fair game. Sorry, mom!

I started by placing six stickers on the bottom part of the dish.

Then, I went around the sides and placed stickers at varying heights all the way around the dish.

Seriously. That’s all there is to it. Apply stickers, enjoy. Not a single one of you can argue that you’re not crafty enough for this project!

I love how cute it looks now; so much more class and pizzazz than a plain white dish, right?

And it’s even cuter filled with adorable little clips that I don’t need and may never use! I don’t know about you, but I think I work better when I have pretty things to look at on my desk. Yeah, we’ll go with that.

Disclaimer: If you make one of these, I don’t recommend eating out of it. Binder clips aren’t very tasty anyway. I also don’t recommend washing it. Or giving it to your small child. Because small children have a way of breaking and/or ingesting stuff and making you say, “This is why we don’t have nice things.”
