Fabric Gift Card Holders
Looking for that perfect gift for someone in your life? A gift card always fits, and this Fabric Gift Card Holder project will help you personalize it with a handmade touch. Here’s how to create your own.

How to Make a Fabric Gift Card Holder

Materials
- (3) 5” fabric squares
- Fusible interfacing
- Scissors
- Rotary cutter and quilting ruler
- Iron
Instructions
Cut your fabric squares and interfacing.
Pocket: 4-1/4” x 4-1/4”
Front: 3-1/4” x 4-1/4”
Back: 3-1/4” x 4-1/4”
Interfacing: 3-1/4” x 4-1/4″
Fold the 4-1/4” pocket square in half and press.
Iron the rough side of the interfacing to the wrong side of your front piece.
Layer the fabric as follows:
Front (right side facing up, interfacing on the table)
Pocket (line up the raw edges with the bottom of the front)
Back (right side down)
Here’s an illustration of how to place the pocket on top of the front piece.

Sew a 1/4” seam around the edges, leaving an opening in the center of the bottom.
Turn your project right side out.
Make sure the pocket flips to the correct side. Then, fold the edges of the opening inside the project and press.
Top stitch 1/8” or less all the way around the edges of the project.
This will sew the opening shut.
Add your gift card and share with a friend!

These are so quick and easy to make, and your friends and family can even use them after the fact as a little credit card/gift card/ID holder.

Crafting Tips
- No fusible interfacing? No problem! You can make this project without it – it just won’t be quite as thick and sturdy.
- If you’d like to use this to hold business cards in place of gift cards, just increase the width of all your fabric pieces by 1/4”.
- Have fun mixing and matching different fabrics to get all kinds of fun combos! You don’t have to use just Christmas fabrics; feel free to use your favorite colors and patterns to get totally unique creations.

Frequently Asked Questions
I mixed and matched charm squares (5”) from these two collections: Good News Great Joy by Fancy That Design House and Christmas Eve by Lella Boutique.
This holder can accommodate standard size gift cards, credit cards, and photo IDs, which are about 2.21” x 3.375”.
