How to Make a Charm Square Reversible Baby Blanket

This sweet little blanket features simple a patchwork pattern on the top, and a soft fuzzy backing. It can be made with just one pack of pre-cut 5” fabric squares, along with batting and backing, and finished in a few hours.

Materials

  • 1 pack (30) 5” squares
  • 3/4 yard backing fabric (I recommend Cuddle fabric)
  • 3/4 yard batting
  • free pattern

Crafting Tips

  • You can totally personalize this blanket by using whatever fabric colors and patterns match the nursery theme or your own preference.
  • Cuddle fabric is wonderfully soft, but can be messy to cut, so keep a vacuum or lint roller handy.
  • For a slightly larger blanket, you can use all 40 squares of the charm pack instead of just 30. (I’d lay them out in 8 rows of 5).

Cuddle is high-quality minky fabric that’s ultra-soft to the touch as well as durable. It’s available in over 100 solid colors as well as patterns.

What kind of batting should I use?

I use Fairfield world Toasty Cotton Batting, but you can use whatever type of quilt batting you prefer.
