Walker Bag – free PDF pattern

While a walker can be a huge help for those with limited mobility, using one can make it difficult to carry things when on the go. This walker bag is designed to help by holding essentials, like a wallet, tissues, chapstick, candies, or whatever else will fit in the pockets – allowing you or your loved one to easily transport things while staying balanced and safe.

I created this pattern because I wanted to help my grandmother and make her life a little easier as she deals with limited mobility at the age of 95. I hope it’s a help to you and your loved ones as well and brings a pop of color and cheer to a mobility aid they might dislike having to use. If you try making a walker bag, I’d love to see how it turns out! Make sure you’re part of the Amy Latta & Friends Facebok Group so you can share your project photos and we can all inspire one another. Hope to see you there.

This free pattern is for personal use only, not for re-sale. You may, however, sell the physical walker bags that you create.

Crafting Tips

  • In place of ribbon, try using velcro strips if you want a different way of securing the bag to the walker.
  • Feel free to divide the front pocket into as many sections in whatever sizes you like.
  • It’s fun to create several of these bags with seasonal fabrics and switch them out throughout the year to give your loved one something festive and fun to look at.
